DJB Photography School("we", "us") runs photography courses in Melbourne and sells course bookings and gift vouchers through this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it, and the choices you have. It covers school.djbworldphotography.com and the bookings, gift vouchers, and enquiries made through it.

What we collect

• When you book a course. Your name, email address, and phone number. We record these when you submit the booking form, before payment, so we can hold your place and contact you about the session.
• When you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and are never seen or stored by us. Afterpay payments are handled by Afterpay through Stripe.
• When you buy a gift voucher. The purchaser's name and email, collected through Stripe at checkout.
• When you contact us. Your name, email, and whatever you write in your message.
• When you browse the site. Standard analytics data through Google Analytics, and a first-visit record of how you reached us (the referring website, any campaign tags in the link, and the first page you landed on). This helps us understand which of our efforts bring people to the site.

How we use your information

We use your details to manage your booking or voucher, to answer your enquiry, to take payment, and to run and improve the website. That is the extent of it. We do not send marketing emails, and we do not add you to any mailing list. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

How long we keep it

If you start a booking but do not complete payment, the booking is cancelled automatically and the name, email, and phone number on it are permanently removed within 30 days. Completed booking and payment records are kept for as long as we need them for tax and business records, as Australian law requires. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers who handle data on our behalf, only for the purpose we engage them for:

• Stripe - payment processing (and Afterpay instalments).
• Postmark - sending your booking and voucher confirmation emails.
• Neon - the database that stores your booking.
• Vercel - hosting the website.
• Google Analytics - website usage measurement.

Some of these providers are based overseas, so your information may be handled outside Australia. We only share what each provider needs to do its job.

Cookies

The site uses cookies for analytics (through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager) and to remember how you first reached us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The booking and payment process still works with cookies disabled.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Email concierge@djbphotographyschool.com and we will action it. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Payments run over Stripe's encrypted checkout, and access to booking records is limited to the people who need it to run the courses. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

Children

The website and bookings are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children without a parent or guardian involved.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. The current version always lives at this address.
